Import assets, subscriptions, locations and people from the Excel templates, including custom fields.

The bulk import page is where you import records into AssetCenter in bulk. This can be done at any time, not just when you first get started with us. For example, if you purchase 20 F-150 pickups, the imports page is a quick way to get them into the system.
The imports page has four tabs: Assets, Subscriptions, Locations and People. Each record type is uploaded separately. We provide Excel import templates for you to add your records to and then upload here.
You can download the templates from the bulk import page using the selector in the top right corner.
Importing
Importing is a three-step process. First, upload the completed Excel template file into the step 1 uploader.
Then, in step 2, press the Validate Import button to look for any errors in the Excel file. If any issues are found they are listed below, telling you which row in the spreadsheet had a problem and what the problem is.
If no errors are found, you can proceed to step 3 and import. Press the Process Import button and it will start importing the records into AssetCenter.
When it has completed you will get a success message.
Asset import options
When importing assets there are three options available. You can have the system automatically create categories in the app if they do not exist. The other two options are the same for people and locations: you can have the import automatically create any people or locations that do not already exist in the app.
Asset custom fields
The assets import template supports custom field imports. If you have custom fields on your category, you can import to them using the assets import template. For example, you are importing Dell laptops and you have set up a custom field for the service tag.
To make this work, add a new column at the end of the template using a header name that matches the custom field name, and the data in that row is imported to the custom field.
