Person events
Log onboarding, offboarding and other milestones on a person, customize the event types, and let an event change the person's status.

Person events record the milestones in someone's time with your organization: the day they start, the paperwork they sign, the accounts set up for them and the day they leave. Each one lands on the person's timeline, so their history reads from first day to last in one place.
The events AssetCenter starts with
Every organization starts with six person events:
- Onboarding — the person's first day. AssetCenter adds this one for you when you create a person with a start date.
- Agreement Signed — an equipment, acceptable-use or other agreement.
- Accounts Created — email and system accounts set up for them.
- Training Completed — security, safety or product training.
- Accounts Disabled — access removed as they leave.
- Offboarded — the person has left. Logging it sets the person to Inactive.
If the person is kept up to date by Microsoft Entra ID directory sync, disable their account in Entra as well. Otherwise the next sync sets them back to active.
Customizing person events
Open the blue + button in the main menu, choose Events under Setup, then select the People tab at the top of the page.
Press Add Event to create your own, or click an existing event to change it. As with asset events, each event has an icon, a colour and its own fields. Every person event starts with Date, Time and Notes, and you can add custom fields such as a badge number, the laptop's serial number or who signed off the training. The field types available are text box, number, date, checkbox, Yes / No / NA selector and phone number.
Drag events to reorder them, and disable any your organization does not use so they stop appearing in the list. The events AssetCenter ships with can be disabled but not deleted, and an event you created cannot be deleted once it has been logged.
Changing the person's status
When logged, set the person to lets an event change the person's status. Set it to Inactive on an event such as Offboarded, and logging that event marks the person inactive and records the change on their timeline. Leave it blank for events that should not touch the status.
The status only changes when the event is first logged. Editing an old Offboarded event later will not deactivate someone who has since been made active again.
Logging an event on a person
Open the person, press the actions button and choose Event. Pick the event, fill in its fields and press Save. If the event changes the person's status, a note above the fields says so before you save.
You can add comments and attachments while the event is still open, such as a scanned signed agreement, and they are saved with it. Closing without saving discards the event and anything attached to it.
Click an event on the person's timeline to edit it, add comments or attachments, or delete it.
To see person events across your whole organization, open the People tab of the Events report.
