7 best Sortly alternatives in 2026: pricing, user limits and what each is for

Published · Updated

Quick answer

The best Sortly alternative depends on why you are leaving: BoxHero for simple stock, inFlow for purchasing and sales orders, Zoho Inventory for selling through channels, GoCodes for QR-tagged tools, AssetTiger for low-cost asset tracking, EZO for assets and stock together, or AssetCenter for equipment history.

Editorial disclosure

AssetCenter publishes this roundup and is one of the products covered, which is a material conflict of interest. Inclusion is not paid, the other vendors did not review the page, AssetCenter receives no affiliate payment, and the page names cases where staying on Sortly is the better choice.

How we chose these Sortly alternatives

Teams leave Sortly for different reasons: user and item limits, purchasing depth, selling through channels, or because what they track is equipment and not stock. We matched one alternative to each reason and reviewed vendor-owned pricing pages on October 11, 2026. We did not deploy the seven products side by side, test vendor support, or accept payment for inclusion.

Why teams look for Sortly alternatives

Sortly is visual, mobile inventory: photos, folders, tags, QR labels and quantities that anyone can pick up on a phone. Teams rarely leave because it is hard to use. They leave because of how the plans are cut, or because what they are tracking turned out not to be stock.

  • User licenses are capped by plan. One on Free, two on Advanced, five on Ultra and eight on Premium. A fourth person who needs to edit can mean the next plan up.
  • So are items. 100 unique items on Free, 500 on Advanced, 2,000 on Ultra and 5,000 on Premium, with Enterprise for 10,000 and above.
  • The steps between plans are large. The monthly list prices are $49, $149 and $299.
  • Some features wait for a higher plan. Sortly’s pricing page lists purchase orders from Ultra, the QuickBooks Online integration from Premium, and the API and webhooks on Enterprise.
  • It counts things; it does not follow them. For laptops, tools and vehicles, the question is usually who has this one and what has happened to it, which is a different record from a quantity in a folder.

If your team counts supplies and materials, fits inside a plan’s limits, and likes the app, Sortly may still be the right choice. Each alternative below answers one of the reasons above.

Sortly pricing in 2026

These are the plans on Sortly’s own pricing page, checked on October 11, 2026.

Plan Billed monthly Billed yearly, first year Unique items User licenses
Free$0$01001
Advanced$49/mo$288/yr5002
Ultra$149/mo$888/yr2,0005
Premium$299/mo$1,788/yr5,0008
EnterpriseQuoteQuote10,000+12+

Read the yearly column carefully. Sortly’s footnote says the 50% discount behind those figures applies only to the first year of a new subscription, and that a 20% discount applies to yearly plans after that. On the monthly list prices, 20% off works out to about $470, $1,430 and $2,870 a year from the second year. That is our arithmetic, not a price Sortly publishes, so confirm it before you renew.

Paid plans have a 14-day free trial, and Sortly asks for a credit card to start it.

1. AssetCenter

An asset record in AssetCenter for a Lenovo ThinkPad, showing its assignments and full event timeline.

AssetCenter is for the team that bought Sortly to track equipment and found it was built for stock. It records individually identified assets, the people and locations they are assigned to, and recurring subscriptions, and gives every asset one timeline of assignments, moves, maintenance, repairs, costs and retirement.

AssetCenter Key facts
Best for
Knowing who has each asset and everything that has happened to it
Starting price
Free for 25 assets; paid plans from $39 a month
Charged per
Plan, by number of assets and seats
Free plan or trial
Free account: 25 assets, no time limit. 14-day trial on paid plans, no credit card
Users
5 seats on Starter, 15 on Growth, unlimited on Professional
Asset or item limit
250, 1,500 or 5,000 assets by plan
Not for
Stock quantities, purchase orders or automatic device discovery

Phone-camera barcode and QR scanning opens the record where the work happens. The Free account covers 25 assets with no time limit. Paid plans are $39 a month for 250 assets and 5 seats, $129 for 1,500 assets and 15 seats, and $299 for 5,000 assets with unlimited seats.

Where AssetCenter beats Sortly

  • Custody and history: each asset shows who has it now, who had it before, and everything that happened to it, in order.
  • More people on the entry plan: 5 seats at $39 a month, against two user licenses on Sortly Advanced.
  • Subscriptions beside hardware: software and service renewals sit next to the equipment they belong to.

Where Sortly is stronger

AssetCenter does not manage quantities, low-stock alerts, pick lists or purchase orders. If you count supplies and materials, Sortly or one of the stock tools below is the better fit. Our Sortly alternative comparison covers the two products in depth.

2. BoxHero

BoxHero is the closest like-for-like replacement: a mobile stock app with barcode scanning.

BoxHero Key facts
Best for
A small team counting stock on phones
Starting price
$288 a year for the Business plan, shown as $24 a month
Charged per
Team, with three members, 1,000 items and three locations included
Free plan or trial
Free Personal plan: 100 items, one member, one location
Users
Three included; $5 a month for each extra member
Asset or item limit
1,000 items; $10 a month for each extra 1,000
Not for
Equipment that needs a custody and service history
Checked against BoxHero’s pricing page.

Its free Personal plan covers 100 items, one team member and one location. The Business plan is listed at $24 per team a month on annual billing, $288 a year, for three members, 1,000 items and three locations, and adds low-stock alerts and purchases and sales. Growth is sold as add-ons to the one paid plan: $5 a month for each extra member, $10 a month for each extra 1,000 items, and $10 a month for each extra ten locations. BoxHero also offers nonprofits 50% off the Business plan.

Where BoxHero beats Sortly

  • More for the entry price: the Business plan includes twice the items of Sortly Advanced and a third person.
  • You add a person, not a plan: an extra member is a small monthly add-on.

Watch for: it is the same kind of tool as Sortly, so it shares the same limit for equipment. A quantity record is not a custody history.

3. inFlow

inFlow suits a business that has outgrown counting and now needs to buy and sell from the same system.

inFlow Key facts
Best for
Stock that is bought and sold through purchase and sales orders
Starting price
$99 a month billed annually, or $129 billed monthly (Lite)
Charged per
Plan, by team members and locations
Free plan or trial
No free plan. 14-day trial, no credit card
Users
Two team members on Lite, five on Core, ten on Pro, 20 on Max
Asset or item limit
No product limit; one location on Lite, five on Core
Not for
Simple counting on a small budget
Checked against inFlow’s pricing page.

Its Inventory plans all list unlimited products, sales and purchases, with purchase orders, sales orders and barcoding included. Lite is $99 a month billed annually, or $129 billed monthly, for two team members and one location. Core is $299 billed annually, or $379 monthly, for five members and five locations, and Pro and Max, at $499 and $699 billed annually, have unlimited locations. A separate Stockroom product, $69 a month billed annually, gives unlimited people scanning in the mobile app with two administrators, without the purchasing and sales features. inFlow also lists a one-time $499 onboarding package that it says is required on most plans.

Where inFlow beats Sortly

  • Purchasing and sales from the first plan: Sortly lists purchase orders from Ultra.
  • No item cap: the plans differ by team size and locations, not by how many products you hold.

Watch for: the entry price is higher than Sortly’s, the smallest plan allows few team members, and the onboarding package is a one-time cost on top.

4. Zoho Inventory

Zoho Inventory is built around orders, which makes it the alternative for stock you sell.

Zoho Inventory Key facts
Best for
Stock sold through orders and online channels
Starting price
$29 a month billed annually (Standard)
Charged per
Organization, by orders a month
Free plan or trial
Free plan: 50 orders a month, one user, one location
Users
Three on Standard, five on Premium, ten on Plus and Enterprise
Asset or item limit
500 orders a month on Standard, 3,000 on Premium
Not for
Teams that only need to know what is on the shelf
Checked against Zoho Inventory’s pricing page.

Its free plan allows 50 orders a month with one user and one location. On annual billing, Standard is $29 a month for 500 orders, three users and two locations; Premium is $79 for 3,000 orders, five users and four locations, and adds serial number and batch tracking; Plus is $129 and Enterprise $249.

Where Zoho Inventory beats Sortly

  • Priced by orders, not items: a large catalogue that sells slowly stays on a small plan.
  • Serial and batch tracking: included from Premium for stock that has to be traced.

Watch for: it is order management first. A team that only wants to know what is on the shelf will find more system than it needs, and the monthly order limit is the number to check against your busiest month.

5. GoCodes

A screenshot of the GoCodes asset tracking interface.

GoCodes focuses on tagging tools and field equipment and scanning them with a phone. Its plans include GPS tracking, an inventory module, task management and custom fields, and the higher ones ship custom QR tags.

GoCodes Key facts
Best for
QR-tagged tools and field equipment
Starting price
$500 a year (Standard)
Charged per
Plan, bundling assets with users
Free plan or trial
No free plan. 15-day trial, no credit card
Users
Three on Standard, up to 20 on Professional; $400 a year for each extra five
Asset or item limit
200 assets on Standard, up to 2,000 on Professional
Not for
A large crew with few assets, because users are bundled into each tier
Checked against GoCodes’ pricing page.

Plans are annual and bundle assets with users: Standard is $500 a year for 200 assets and three users, Premium $1,000 for 500 assets and five users with 500 custom QR tags, Premium Elite $1,750 for 1,000 assets and ten users, and Professional $2,500 for 2,000 assets and 20 users with kitting and offline mode included. Enterprise is custom.

Where GoCodes beats Sortly

  • Built for job sites: scan a tool, record who has it and where it was, and move on.
  • Tags included: from Premium, labeling is part of the purchase.

Watch for: users are bundled into each tier, and kitting and offline mode are paid add-ons below Professional.

6. AssetTiger

A screenshot of the AssetTiger asset management interface.

AssetTiger is the budget option for assets.

AssetTiger Key facts
Best for
Low-cost asset tracking when many people need access
Starting price
$20 a month for 500 assets (Basic)
Charged per
Plan, by number of assets
Free plan or trial
No permanent free plan. 30-day trial: 250 assets, two users
Users
Unlimited on every paid plan
Asset or item limit
500 to 250,000 assets by plan
Not for
Teams that want a permanent free tier
Checked against AssetTiger’s pricing page.

Plans run from $20 a month for 500 assets to $275 a month for 250,000, and every paid plan includes unlimited users, the REST API and the mobile apps. Annual billing gives one month free.

Where AssetTiger beats Sortly

  • Unlimited users on every paid plan: the price follows the number of assets, not the number of people.
  • The API is not an Enterprise feature: it is included on every paid plan.

Watch for: there is no permanent free plan, only a trial. Our AssetTiger comparison goes further.

7. EZO

The EZO asset operations dashboard showing item summaries, checkouts, reservations, and maintenance information.

EZO, formerly EZOfficeInventory, is the alternative for teams that need individually tracked assets and stock in the same system.

EZO Key facts
Best for
Assets, stock and reservations in one system
Starting price
$63.55 a month for 300 items, billed yearly (Essential)
Charged per
Item count, starting at 300
Free plan or trial
No free plan. 14-day trial, no credit card
Users
Unlimited, under a fair-usage policy
Asset or item limit
Priced by items: 500 items is $81.41 a month on Essential
Not for
Teams that need one job done, not a platform to configure
Checked against EZO’s pricing page.

EZO’s pricing page shows Essential at $63.55 a month, Advanced at $85.51 and Premium at $100.88 for 300 items on yearly billing. The price rises with the item count, so Essential is $81.41 at 500 items, and Enterprise is priced by quote. Custom fields, purchase orders, audits and RFID support start on Advanced, and the request portal and GPS-integrated tracking start on Premium.

Where EZO beats Sortly

  • No user licenses to count: the price follows items.
  • Assets and stock together: serialized equipment and bulk quantities live in one account.

Watch for: the price rises with the item count, and there are more modules to set up. If you are weighing it, see the EZOfficeInventory alternatives roundup.

How to choose

  • You like Sortly but not the bill: BoxHero.
  • You need to raise purchase orders and sales orders: inFlow.
  • You sell what you stock: Zoho Inventory.
  • Tools moving between job sites: GoCodes.
  • Many people need access and the budget is small: AssetTiger.
  • Equipment and supplies in one place: EZO.
  • Knowing who has each asset and everything that happened to it: AssetCenter.

Before switching, export your Sortly items and sort them into two groups: things you count, and things you hand to someone. The first group decides which stock tool fits. The second belongs in an asset register. For the wider field, including maintenance and fleet tools, see the best asset management software comparison.
