Intune already knows every Windows PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android device you have enrolled, and who uses it. Connect it and those devices become assets in AssetCenter, with serial numbers, models and assigned users filled in rather than copied across by hand.

What you get
Intune is where devices are configured and kept secure. AssetCenter is where they are owned: bought, assigned, repaired, moved and eventually retired. The integration carries what Intune knows across, so both start from the same list of hardware.

A Microsoft administrator approves the connection once, and every device enrolled in Intune arrives ready to become an asset or to attach to one you already have.
A controlled connection
Connect from the Integrations page in AssetCenter and have a Microsoft administrator approve read access to Intune devices. There is nothing to install on your devices or your network, and no need to connect your directory first.
AssetCenter reads your Intune devices and never changes anything in Intune. It does not read the people or groups in your directory; that is what the Microsoft Entra ID integration is for.
A device whose serial matches an asset you already track is linked automatically, on the first sync and every one after it. Placeholder serials such as "To be filled by O.E.M." are ignored, so unrelated PCs are never matched to each other.
Everything else waits in the Inbox, under Waiting, Linked and Excluded. Import a device as a new asset, link it to one you already have, or exclude it for good. Import all files computers, phones and tablets wherever you choose, and a bulk exclude clears out devices that have not checked in since a month you pick.
Automatic importing is on from the start. AssetCenter checks Intune every ten minutes for devices it has never seen and files them into the categories it suggests for computers, phones, tablets and everything else. Change any of them, or leave a kind out to keep reviewing it yourself.
Records stay useful
Intune is the authority on what a device is and who is using it. AssetCenter keeps the record Intune was never meant to hold: what it cost, where it has been, what was repaired and when it is due for replacement.
When Intune reports a device's user and that email belongs to someone in People, the asset is assigned to them, with the same timeline entry a manual assignment records.
Wi-Fi and Ethernet addresses are recorded against each linked asset, so the hardware can be recognised by its network identity as well as its serial.
An asset holds one record per source, so the same Mac can carry its Intune enrolment alongside its Apple Business purchase record and AppleCare dates.
