For small and mid-size IT teams comparing Reftab and AssetTiger on tracking, check-out management, and reporting, the deciding factor is usually price against IT depth. Pricing was checked on September 25, 2026.

• IT asset tracking: Reftab is the more IT-focused product, with hardware and software tracking and published integrations with device-management and IT tools such as Intune, Jamf, and Jira. AssetTiger is a general-purpose asset tracker for IT equipment, tools, vehicles, and furniture.
• Check-out management: Both support check-in and check-out with barcode or QR scanning and iOS and Android apps. Reftab also offers reservations with calendars, including on its free plan.
• Reporting: Both include reports. Reftab's free plan includes advanced reports with Excel and CSV export; AssetTiger includes its reporting on every paid plan.

Choose around the work you need to finish

Consider AssetCenter when connected equipment and subscription records, custom lifecycle events, and employee assignments are your main need. Walk through an employee equipment handoff and review the subscription example before trying those steps with your own records.

Consider Reftab when reservations, equipment lending, maintenance, device integrations, or software discovery and usage analysis are central. Confirm the relevant plan and integration scope with Reftab.

Both are good tools. The best choice depends on your workflow.
